Openwork has launched Openwork Surveying, an online system that will connect clients with specialist surveyors across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Openwork says the launch is a reaction to many lenders focusing on valuations but not surveys.
The service is a tie-up with Legal & General Surveying Services.
An Openwork statement says: “It is an adviser’s duty to ensure clients are aware that the lender’s valuation is not undertaken for their benefit, but simply provides the lender with an understanding of the property’s value in the event of reposession.
“Openwork Surveying seeks to address this, helping to ensure that the client knows exactly what they are getting for their money.”
Openwork proposition director Paul Shearman says: “Openwork Surveying will give our advisers access to a network of high quality, vetted surveyors who are keen to go beyond simply valuing properties, and provide the detailed property assessment that they are qualified and trained to do.”
