Halifax has scaled back its high value Premier team and has increased the threshold it will accept from £350,000 to £500,000.
The original Premier team had 35 members, based in London.
Halifax will now process applications in its new business team in Edinburgh, but has kept a four-strong team in London to handle pre-applications.
A Halifax spokeswoman says: “As part of our ongoing commitment to the mortgage market, we regularly review and adapt our processes in order to best meet the changing needs of our customers.
“As a result of this review, the threshold for our Premier Mortgage Services cases has moved from £350,000 to £500,000 to reflect the service needs of this customer segment.”
The maximum size of case the team will handle is £5m.
Halifax set its former £350,000 threshold in November 2015, up from £300,000.
